By Brett R
I purchased this (after trying an Intel Series 520 that wouldn't work - That's another story.) for my HP 2540p. I used EaseUS Disk Copy Home Edition (freeware) to clone the stock OEM 1.8" 5400 rpm HD to the Kingston SSD. I used a Micro SATA 1.8 Inch Drive to 2.5 Inch Laptop Drive Caddy in a Vantec NexStar TX external drive enclosure and connected to notebook. Windows 7 recognized the drive immediately and asked if I wanted to initialize the disk - did so and then formatted - That took awhile - I told the disk cloning software to set up the disk image for an SSD, waited while it transferred the image to the SSD, shut the 2540p off when indicated by the software, and removed the original drive (carefully), replaced with the SSD, after removing and re-using the stock rubber mount, re-assembled everything, held my breath a bit...., and 30 seconds after stroking the power button was watching Win 7-64 Pro start with no issues. Within 45 seconds after powering up, I was on the desktop and checking things out- Amazing! The OS shows TRIM is enabled, recognizes it as a Kingston 256gb SSD - it's all good! The differences for elapsed times to start and load, between the stock HD and the SSD - The Kingston is sooooo Fast can't say enough good about it. Everything is working as it is supposed to and So Much Faster to load the browser or a DVD. (This is my traveling machine and media player on the jet.) I can tell just after a couple of hours on battery that it is a lot easier on battery usage, so expecting a lot more time available away from the outlet and charger.I couldn't be more pleased with this (so far) and will try to get back to this review later to update it, after the notebook and SSD have more time together, but so far, no worries, and no indication that there will be.

I put it into my old legendary IBM Thinkpad T42. To connect it I used mini SATA to IDE adapter. With dynamic FSB frequency switiching and Fan RPM Control software it makes my laptop noiseless and fast.

By Nano T
I'm not a computer expert. All I can tell you is that the original 1.8inch solid state drive that came in my laptop failed. A computer tech helped me find this size (not too common) so I took his advice and order it. He stuck it in for me (took him 5 min) and it's worked perfectly every since.
