By T. Garrison
While Mushkin may have a great reputation for their RAM, their SSD products have a reputation for high failure rates; my experience validates this. Any SSD is going to have a higher failure rate than a spindle, but after restoring from backups for the third time this year I don't think I'll be putting another Mushkin SSD in my computer.

Works perfectly in my early 2011 MacBook Pro. Direct-swap replacement, no hacking to get it to fit. Shipped with latest firmware and is seriously wicked fast.

By speck55
Drive works ok for entry level boot drive, but can definitely be beat by others in its class. Works OK as a storage drive, though. Don't get me wrong, the effect will be felt on a laptop coming from a 5400RPM or even maybe a 7200RPM spinner and isn't a bad choice if on a budget. The only beef I have is with the manufacturer and SATA PIN #7 - this pin is used for among other things, indicating disk activity. So if you have it in a hot swap tray with individual slot activity, it will operate, but you will not get the activity LED - which can be bothersome if you want to see disk traffic, for example to see which drive is being read from, or if a certain workflow hits a certain disk for "Temporary" space. The Deluxe is likely much more excitiing, but I fear it too will have the activity LED issue, which may sound a bit nit-picky, but when you are spending this kind of money on a drive, they could have at least done activity up right according to SATA standards.
