I had this ssd fail on me at 33 days after I received it. OWC's policy is after 30 days it is an exchange only. OK. No problems there but, once I received the replacement drive (not guaranteed to be new per customer service rep) it continued to crash and freeze like it did before. Called up tech support again and was run through everything they could think of. The drive was still not functioning correctly. Long story short the drive was not compatible with my computer even though on their website my macbook pro was listed as so. This was confirmed through tech support. His response was something along the lines of "you have a 6g in a 3g computer so that might be your problem even though we have it listed as compatible with you computer". So I say "can I trade you guys this one and get the CHEAPER 3g that is most likely going to fix the problem?" His reply: "No. We can only send you out a replacement with the same exact product as per our policy." Then I proceeded to ask "so you're telling me that even if this drive fails a 100 times you will keep sending a replacement that appears to not be compatible with my computer which, your website clearly lists it as so, instead of swapping it out for the cheaper 3g ???" This reply : "yes." ......and I was like: wow...But thats not the worst part. I went on their website to leave a review on the product which, was more forgiving than the one here and they NEVER posted it! Makes you wonder why all of their ratings and reviews on that site are only 4 or 5 stars and completely positive. False advertising at its finest.....Be aware that I am sure they probably really do have great products but, if you fall between the cracks of their return policy---good luck. At that point no one appears to have any power to make an exception for you even if it would actually benefit the company. (I'm sure sending a lifetime supply of free ssd's to a customer to ruin is more expensive than sending 1 correct model lol)Once you recieve the replacement it does not matter how soon it fails. They will send a replacement in that scenario as well.I will never buy OWC again due mostly to the fact that they did not post my review and it seems very shady that NO other reviews are negative, not even moderately so.
