By Joel Dazo
Review from someone who actually bought and used this product.I installed the 240 GB Vertex 2 Series SATA II 3.5 SSD on my computer and it worked fine the first 30 days. After that, a system power up suddenly had my BIOS complaining that it did not detect the SSD. So, I ended up not being able to use the computer at all since it was the primary disk.To troubleshoot, I put my old hard drive in (the one I replaced the SSD with) and the computer found it right away after a reboot. This shows that the problem was the SSD and not not my motherboard or cable.I contacted the company and their solution was for me to spend more money into sending it back to them so they can replace it. This is so unacceptable since the SSD is not cheap (more than $300) and now they have to milk me more for a defective product?!I received an RMA from OCZ Technology and I had to ship the product costing me around $11.00They sent me back a new one and I installed it right away. It's been working but then just today, April 22, 2012, I experienced the same problem. The BIOS startup says: Drive 0 not found. Error: No such partition.I put in my trusty old HDD on the same SATA port and it went along just fine. To troubleshoot and eliminate that it's just my motherboard. So, it's really the SSD that went bad. Again.I won't recommend this product nor the company itself. I believe that the consumer doesn't need to pay shipping when sending back a defective product.

By Mike Hough
OK, it's not the biggest drive on the planet, but it beats out everything else on speed. It's my #1 drive in a Mac Pro tower with all 3 other bays being 3 TB drives. (video editing and enormous numbers of still shots edited daily) but the SSD only has the OS and the Applications folder on it, all other files are in the users folder which has been relocated onto a 3TB drive. That way I have the best of both world, super fast speed but not over filling the SSD with unnecessary files which are really better just on storage drives. Have not had any problems with the known problem of "Background Garbage collection," read more here:[...]As soon as I installed it I noticed the difference and the only drawback is the cost per GB so far.

Great SSD for the price. Not the latest version but the performance is enough and as advertised. It does provide enough room for the OS and large applications.Tested on Win 7 64 bits
