By Joshua Perry
This package includes an Intel X18-M, not an X25-M as I've seen it called some places, and it has been working great on my Late-2007 13-Inch Black Macbook running OS 10.5.8.Reads were around 115MB/s, writes up around 60MB/s, and for the first time since OS X came out, I feel like my computer is as fast as my old CRT iMac was running Mac OS 9.2.2Things don't open instantaneously, but I don't have to wait for spinning beach balls - or much of anything. Now that I have mine installed, I can honestly say that having an SSD does more for the responsiveness of my computer than anything else I've done, including doubling its RAM from 2GB to 4GB. (That did help a lot, but not as much as the hard drive upgrade). In other good news, I managed to get rid of a whole lot of junk that I was carting around on my old hard drive - I "upgraded" my 5400RPM, 640GB drive for this 80GB SSD, but I have just as much free space since I finally installed OS X from scratch and got rid of accumulated files that have been traveling with me across successive system upgrades since a Clamshell iBook G3.The first few days after the clean MacOS install (which was a downgrade from OS 10.6, since I couldn't find my Snow Leopard DVD) I had to keep the old drive (in it's DANE-ELEC case) handy and copied Preference files and Application Support over to my new drive, and, so far, all my applications work. So you can copy your applications over by hand if you want to! (This is not necessary with the DANE-Elec kit, it's just how I chose to do it).So, in conclusion, I am very happy that I bought this, even though I bought it 9 months ago and just got to install it last week. (It chased me around the world for a few months after missing a flight because of a volcanic eruption in Iceland - seriously!) It was the best deal in SSDs when I bought it, and as I look around the marketplace today, (November, 2010) it's still one of the best deals. That's a pretty long life for a computer product!

By Christopher J. Shaker
I installed it in my HP Mini 2140, to ruggedize the computer for motorcycle travel. So far, it continues to work great. No problems so far. This product comes with an external USB enclosure, and basic software for copying your hard disk on PC or on Mac. I got it for a good price, too.

By David G
I purchased one of these units from Newegg when they were on sale.It arrived and seemed solid enough ... but when I tried to install into my Dell Latitude D630, the SATA connectors would not make contact. It seems like the 1.8" to 2.5" adapter that Dane provides isn't quite up to the SATA standard.I've seen similar comments by other people also.On the off chance the unit was defective, I asked Newegg for a replacement ... I suspect they are getting a lot of them back, as Newegg just issued a refund.
