I bought this SSD because it was a good value (got it for $130 - $30 mail-in rebate at Micro Center). The drive is definitely faster than my 7200rpm hard drive. I loved it, but the love didn't last very long. After few days strange things start to happen: PC screen would freeze, blue screens, "missing OS errors, memory errors. I gave it few more days, then I popped in my old hard drive and problems stopped. I was lucky it failed right away and I was able to return it.

By C. Hudson
There are few products where I read the reviews and have 100% the same results as the reviewer. Unfortunatly, this is one of those products. Spend a few minutes reading all of the reviews on this product on the egg and then buy a different product. Most of the reviews on this product deal with it dying within a few weeks to a month of purchasing it. Mine lasted 6 days. If I had not gotten this product at such a fantastic deal (about $0.58 a GB) I would not have purchased it. I thought "Maybe I will be one of the lucky few that get this product, update the firmware and have no issues". The store I bought it from (not Amazon) was great about offering a return, but unfortuantly I wouldn't be able to get the same size SSD for the price I paid. Luckly, within about 6 hours of creating a RMA ticket on OCZ's website, they contacted me and are going to replace this one with an OCZ Agility III. I did have to pay $3 to ship this back to them, but that was expected. I will write a review on the Agility once it's received, but I wanted to warn others to stay away from the Petrol.

Bought one for a customer the other day and it lasted log enough to initialize. From there it would hang and not be detected by any system I had(Dell,Intel ,Fujitsu). To top it off,I got a replacement and it was DOA within minutes of being initialized.Somebody needs to report these folks to the FTC as this product is a joke!
