I'm not going to get too deep into the numbers (you can find those online for the various iterations of the Sandforce based controllers), but let it be known that for the price, this little drive delivers a phenomenal performance boost for any laptop.I use my laptop as a development machine and with the Callisto, it absolutely screams along. The laptop boots up to a usable browser in about 25 seconds. Visual Studio 2010 loads in under 4 seconds, even with various add-ins installed. Applications like Office 2010 and Firefox load instantly.I store and run my virtual machines off a secondary, disk based HDD (Western Digital Scorpio Black) as the size of the SSD isn't conducive for the storage of large virtual machines. Performance is still great given that the majority of the reads/writes for the VM is done on loading/unloading of the VM (hint: not worth it to store you VMs on the SSD unless you have the $$$ to spring for the 240GB SSD).In summary: get one and you'll never go back to disk based HDDs!

I talked a friend into buying this drive for his laptop after his took a dump. I recomended it because i previously have bought products from Mushkin and had great results. Worked great for two months then it just stopped working, computer wont see the drive, took it out and put it on a usb enclosure and still cannot be seen. The real problem now is Mushkin is taking there sweet time responding for the warranty return, to add insult to injury they want you to send them the product back and charge your credit card until they receive it in the mail, then they credit you back.My friend uses his laptop for work and has to wait now. A lot of down time and loss of productivity. Some thing to think about when returning a defective hard drive now you got to worry about if Mushkin gets the hard drive and they fix it(should i be concerned about the information stored on it?)Youv'e let me down Mushkin, I think next time i will not look at purchasing any more of your products.

I purchased this drive on May 1st, 2012. It worked "Ok" when I got it. Speeds were not that great, but still a big upgrade from platter drives. It works great without any flaws for two months. Tonight, August 6th, 2012, it just died. Was installing a water cooler on the CPU, booted... no SSD. Tested in an external enclosure on a different PC, no access.Contacting Muskin tomorrow to see if they honor the warranty policy.UPDATE: Mushkin honored their warranty policy and offered a replacement of the drive. The new drive has been working just fine. I have added 2 stars to the overall ratting because of this.
