Based on the SandForce chipset, it's one of the fastest SSDs. Plus it has sophisticated error correction and load leveling. It does NOT slow down after extensive use like the SSDs from Intel and Crucial.

Bought drive new from amazon. Corrupts file system (ext4) out of box. This is my second OCZ drive. Bought the Vertex "1" 120 GB before (1 yr ago), was also dead when delivered, same problem. Last year OCZ would exchange drive for free, now they want me to pay for shipping. Will return drive to amazon instead (free shipping), will get drive from different manufacturer. Maybe I was just unlucky that I got two bad drives (out of two), but it does not boost my confidence in this brand. Glad I bought from amazon.
