I just purchased a Hp DV7 6195 from amazon and decided I would upgrade the hard drive before I loaded it with applications. I swapped this drive for the OS drive, with still another 500GB drive for storage. Transferring was easy and fast. Now my start times are around 24 seconds max and applications run super fast and smooth. No heat from the drive. If you want a faster experience with windows then this is the way to go. This drive is more money than the other ssd's out there but from the reviews this seems to be the one that is faster and does not have the controller problems of the others and uses a different memory storage pattern then the rest. I have not tried the others but would not hesitate to recommend this ssd.

This is a fantastic drive if you have a new computer with a 6Gb/s SATA connection. I tried the OCZ Vertex 3 MAX IOPS first after having it on preorder since April. I went through 2 of those drives with various problems (reviewed at OCZ 240 GB Vertex 3 SATA III 2.5-Inch Solid State Drive MAX IOPS 6.0 Gb-s VTX3MI-25SAT3-240G) and then switched over to the Wildfire. I get ~500MB/s write speed and ~550MB/s read just like the Vertex 3, but unlike that drive I've had no problems with this one. I'm running this in a new laptop, and boot times went from about a minute on the stock spinner down to ~24 seconds from power on to desktop. 12 seconds of that is BIOS post, and it's another 12 seconds to the desktop once Windows starts loading, or from the F8 menu. If no apps hang it up it takes 3-4 seconds to shut down, and about the same to resume from sleep. Applications load practically instantly, there's no pause like you get with a regular hard drive. I'll be picking up another of these later if I rebuild my desktop, hopefully they'll be a little cheaper by then...

I have been using this drive for games since Dec '11 and this drive has had no issues. No crashes, no requirements to upgrade firmware. I did make sure not to put them on the Marvell controller and used Intel's controller. I have another SSD I purchased around the same time, and this works for that drive too. I haven't benchmarked it, but at some point when I did SSD to SSD transfer (large file - read from different drive - write to this drive) it seemed to range between 350MB/s and 400MB/s with peak around 550MB/s. I don't know if I trust the reliability of Window's measurement of transfer rate, however, this SSD is doing it's job and I'm happy with the product.
