I purchased two of these and both had somewhat suspect performance from the git-go. In a Dell e4300, configured for IRRT, boot and login was exceeding 5 minutes. Oooops. So much for the super SSD performance for which I had hoped.But it turns out all is not lost. The Patriot Torqx 2 has a Phison PS3105 controller. While Patriot doesn't offer a firmware upgrade, mydigitaldiscount does.Please search for "phison PS3105 firmware" and read the upgrade instructions knowing full well, if executed, may (will) violate Patriot's warranty (and completely erase the SSD). Windows 7 backup and restore worked fine for me. YMMV.Oh, was it worth it? The short answer is yes. But, I think I want the time I wasted refunded. Next SSD, I will not fall for the $30 rebate scam, but will look at the benchmark reviews. If I had, this SSD would have been better utilized as a shim for my wobbly desk.

This is my second Patriot Torqx SSD drive. I had no issues with either of them so far. Bought this drive back when it was 179 and it is now 109. Like how the SSD drives are finally coming down in price!

The first of this hard drive that I bought was not working upon installation. I decided to give it another go, it seems to be working but I see a lot of the beach ball of death (hour glass for you pc people) again. It might be the hard drive, it may be something else, I have a 4 year old mac and only 2 GB of memory. 2 out of 5 stars, not at all satisfied. I didn't buy it on Amazon, I love amazon. They get 5 stars.
