By Alan Shepard
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R2YF9KUH1E6QUQ The Kingston SSDNow V+200 is Kingston's attempt to provide a solid-state drive with the amazing Sandforce processor at a reasonable price. I was able to score one of these drives from a street vendor, and it was worth every penny. I had the choice between the V100 256GB and the V+200 240GB for the same price, and I chose the latter because I am planning on buying a new laptop with SATA 3 in a few months.*InstallationMy installation went flawlessly. I unplugged my old drive, unscrewed the bracket, and transferred the bracket to the V+200 prior to plugging it into my laptop. I loaded Windows 7 on a USB drive using the USB/DVD download tool from Microsoft. The installation took about 10 minutes. The drive didn't need any changes, and TRIM was already enabled. I just turned off defragmentation.*PerformanceWindows score of 7.7The V+200 crushed my laptop's factory 5400 RPM drive--Shaved 1:08 off of cold boot--Shaved 33 seconds off hibernating the system--Waking from hibernation is 30 seconds faster--Going to sleep takes 8 seconds less--Waking from sleep takes 7 seconds lessSee the video for CrystalDiskMark read and write speed tests. On my SATA 2 system I get half of the SATA 3 advertised speeds, and the write speed is about 20MB/s faster than read speed. The drive sees virtually no difference between writing large 1000MB files and small 50MB files.*ConclusionThis hard drive is a great way to upgrade any laptop, even one with a ULV processor and SATA 2. Buyers should be able to transfer it to a new SATA 3 computer without hassle. At the current asking price, the drive might not be worth it compared to the Crucial SSD 256GB offering, which was at $295 when I last looked. However, other websites' testing show that this drive out performs the Crucial and the new Intel drives.UPDATE (December 6, 2012)I have had this for 10 months now, and the drive is still working perfectly. It is as fast as ever. Civ 5 loads fast.

By K. Young
I've been working on my MacBook for about 6 Months now with a 500GB HD running at 5400 RPM. I waited for my SSD to come in the mail today and installed it immediately. I also installed the new OSX Mountain Lion on it while I was at it. I immediately noticed the speed increase of boot time, shut down, and file transfer. The performance is incredible. I can honestly say it met and exceeded my expectations.I've been waiting on purchasing an SSD. So when they went on sale I jumped at the opportunity. Kingston has always been a go to trustworthy brand for me when looking for Memory and Storage.TL;DR: Definitely worth the buy if you're upgrading from a Hard Drive.

By Eric M. Bergfield
This is my first time using a SSD; I bought two of the 120GB drives and I'm really impressed! My old HDD used to take 2m 17s to restart! Now that I have this SDD my computer restarts is just 14s! The difference is night and day, I'll honestly never buy another standard HDD ever again, every HDD I buy from this point on will be solid-state.Pros:+ Using this SSD I was able to cut off 2m 3s from the time it took my PC to restart (that's a 90% faster restart-time).+ Windows Performance Index went from 5.9 to 7.4!+ Stuff loads almost instantly now.+ 120GB is a pretty good amount of space, Windows 7 takes up maybe ~20GB or so, leaving plenty of space for other software.+ I'm now a SSD convert, and will never buy a standard HDD ever again! If you haven't tried a SSD, then I highly recommend you do so, because my "restart time" was reduced by 90%. I STRONGLY recommend this product!
