The solid-state vs. platter hard drive debate really heats up in the quality/quantity choice you have to make if you are looking at this SSD. You get an incredibly fast drive that doesn't hold much if you buy this.I've used this drive in two vastly different builds with two totally different goals. My mother uses a computer to check e-mail, look at YouTube, and do some word processing and spreadsheets... and that's it. For her, this is a great drive, because she needs less than 1GB of space for her needs for the next few years, and she loves the lightning-fast startup/shutdown times.I, on the other hand, while not a hardcore gamer, do like to run the occasional RTS game, and have lots of media to boot. Since 40GB wasn't going to cut it, I hooked up both this and a 750GB traditional HDD. My goal was to put the OS and drivers on the SSD and use the HDD for storage. After installing only Windows 7, an antivirus (which usually *has* to be on the same drive as the OS), and my video card and motherboard drivers, I nearly maxed out the drive, though it cleaned itself up to about 19GB free after it runs through a few shutdown/update cycles.Still, while the startup/shutdown time has improved dramatically, if I had to do this build again I would opt for at least a 60GB SSD, because even though 40GB was sufficient in the end, I had to really fiddle around with space to initially fit everything on it before it was able to clean itself up.If you are low-end user, this is a good drive. If you are a power user and are using this strictly to host your OS, antivirus and drivers, I'd move up a size just to avoid some initial headache.NOTE: The drive in here is the same as for this SSD, but the "retail box" included a transfer cable, a 2.5"-to-3.5" bay adapter, and a protective sleeve in case you want to use this as an external drive.

Bought this when they had flash sale so I got it for super cheap. Not to bad for the price and I use it in my gaming laptop to help boot timing.
