By Luis E. Munoz
I used this SSD drive to refurbish a MacBook with excellent results. The drive is fast and obviously, makes no noise when operating. The drive is quite lightweight and power consumption of the laptop is now a bit better. Still have no solid benchmarks, but it's definitely 10% better or perhaps even more. Heat dissipation seems to be also a little lower than before, although the dominant factor for this are the CPU cores. The drive's case is all plastic and seems solid enough. It certainly is more robust than a traditional hard drive.I'm concerned with the life expectancy of the SSD drive, as cells will fail after so many write operations. However the drive supports SMART and Mac OS X seems to be able to read this information. I assume the OS will give me a warning with enough time to buy another drive, which will most likely be another SSD.Overall, I'm happy with this drive. Note that I chose this specifically because the laptop could not handle a faster interface. Make sure you get the fastest interface that your computer will handle, to fully realize the performance benefits. At the time of this writing there are other models, from the same manufacturer, that carry faster SATA interfaces.

I got this drive a couple of months ago from a local vendor but I am a regular Amazon customer...I RMA'd it about a week after normal usage the issue started to appear. I just got a new drive back from them. and after about 1-2 days of good usage on my new system, I'm going to start my 2nd RMA....The problem is disk response time. I've seen response time delays for read/writes up to 4000ms. It makes doing anything on the computer a horrible experience since applications and the operating system constantly access/write to the drive. It's like trying to listen to someone give a speech, but they are randomly pausing mid-sentence for 1-4 seconds gaps at a time. I've tried it on a few diff computers/configurations, all have the same problem. Do a google search for "corsair nova 60 slowness lag" and see for yourself, there are a lot of others with the same issue. I haven't seen a response from anyone at Corsair and with this many people having the same issue, one would think they could have come up with a fix by now or at least address the issue.I've been a Corsair customer for a while and I bought this on a whim given the name of brand. Well, I should have researched it first. I wish I would have just paid a little bit more and bought a Samsung or Intel SSD from Amazon because this was just a waste of my time and money. It hasn't given me any reliable performance since I bought it and they is just going to waste my time by sending me the same flawed drive.
