What is Intel® Smart Response Technology?
Intel® Smart Response Technology is an Intel® Rapid Storage Technology (RST) caching feature that improves computer system performance. It allows a user to configure computer systems with an SSD used as cache memory between the hard disk drive and system memory. This provides the advantage of having a hard disk drive (or a RAID volume) for maximum storage capacity while delivering an SSD-like overall system performance experience. Intel® Smart Response Technology caching is implemented as a single drive letter solution; no additional drive letter is required for the SSD device used as cache.
XM13 mSATA SSD Supported Motherboards
Motherboards with built-in mSATA Z68 Board slot. The mSATA interface supports SLC and MLC memory module specification, the core is actually the same as standard SSDs. In terms of read and write speed, there are few detectable differences with regular solid state drives. I'm using this as a OS Drive for windows 7 in my Malibal P150EM SE, It has cut down boot times significantly and makes the whole system feels a lot more responsive. It has good read and write speeds. Its capacity is more than enough for OS and a couple of other programs. I would definitely recommend this.
