By Gary Swartzleonard
I installed this as my boot drive and then installed Windows 7 x64, so comparing to my old 10K RPM Western Digital boot drive with Windows XP 32-bit isn't exactly fair. But my system now boots in 20 seconds (10 seconds for the BIOS and 10 seconds for Windows), whereas it used to take up to 2-1/2 minutes before it was usable. Programs load nearly instantaneously, even memory hogs like Photoshop.Another bonus: I feel I am saving energy because I'm shutting down my system when I'm going to be away for 30 minutes or more, where I used to leave it on all day because it took so long to start up.The only concern I have is how long it will last, due to the problems of this type of drive "wearing out" its read/write capability. But mechanical drives fail too, so we'll see how they compare.I plan to buy this or similar SSD drives for three other systems soon. Best investment I've made in a long time.

By GDL
The drive has failed after 3 Months. The drive can be recognized for 20sec-2 minutes, and than loses the connection The drive can NOT be formatted.I had Win7 on it installed. My Music Library got screwed up. It was on OTHER drive. However, because I had in MediaMonkey the setting to automatically monitor and organize my library. It had been reading it. Since the system drive and its file system failed on OCZ, it got influence on my Music Collection. And it was a collection of 10.000 titles which I sometimes picked up manually, organized, renamed and tagged.Yes, everything was faster. But who cares now....It failed faster as well.I can not recommend the OCZ LT. I will continue using WD Black Caviar - fast enough.... and much more reliable (I have 5 drives for a year, all of them are still working).P.S. Good that I have a back up.
