I bought this drive kit on March 19, 2012 from another major online retailer, and installed it in my Acer 722 netbook. The original hard drive in it had failed, so I didn't use the cloning software or external closure, though I will sometime. The drive did seem to make the netbook a bit snappier in performance. It certainly sped up boot time, and my battery life did increase slightly. All seemed fine until yesterday when I started the computer and got "no bootable device". Just to make sure it was the drive and not my computer, I removed the ssd and docked it in a hard drive dock that I have connected to my main home pc, and sure enough, it also failed to recognize the drive. I understand these things are pretty new, but I'm still disappointed that it failed less than 10 months into its 3 year warranty. I've emailed Verbatim for an rma, so hopefully the next drive will last longer. No moving parts should eventually make ssds more reliable than spinning hard drives, but at this time in history they are not. I will update this review pending Verbatim's response.

This product is useless. After some months it gets slower than a HDD and hangs all the time, requiring a secured erasing to recover its original speed. I’ve done that once, and reinstalled all software, but it got slower again and after four months it corrupted my Windows. I bought another SSD. Verbatim SSD is a waste of money.
