By Adrian J. Lind
I paid $200 for this when drive prices were inflated by windows 7 impending release and I couldn't get the Intel drive. It is faster then the intel drive in only two of twelve read/write situations and since the X25-M G2 is available now and within $40, I would buy the intel drive. That said it works well in my 2006 Mac Mini media server w/ Snow Leopard, reboot takes 36 seconds, application launch is less then 2 seconds for any app. general media duties are handled across firewire 400 by a WD studio drive. My wife has the original Mac Book Air with the PATA 64 Gb SSD and that seems just as fast in real use as this, though the specs are 1/3 on paper.

Check the ocz ssd forum to see the problems associated with this drive and other products from this manufacturer. 2 out of 3 of these 60gb Agility drives I have used were lemons, costing me weeks of troubleshooting and downtime. The tech support will have you waste your time spelling out in detail your system components, having you identify the drive and firmware, putting jumper on the drive, sanitary erasing it, reinstalling software, tweaking system settings, etc.My first drive died within 4 months. It was no longer recognized in BIOS. The RMA process took about a week. The replacement drive crashed during Windows 7 Ultimate x64 installation - not a good sign. I eventually got it installed, but the computer still crashes every few hours and the drive disappears from BIOS after reboot. Powering off and then on again gets it recognized in BIOS again.I'm about to RMA for a second time. I'm hoping they will take pity and maybe send a second generation Agility 2 or similar.

By Jay
I have an HP TX2 and often felt like I was waiting forever for applications to load. After popping in this drive the machine is very snappy. As soon as Windows 7 loads and I log in the machine is ready to go. Boot times are a little faster but the big change is how fast applications load and how fast it comes back from sleep. Now when I click on an application's icon, it loads instantly. There's no "thinking about it" or waiting after you click. I suggest you search for SSD tweaks to learn how to save on HD space and get the most out of a SSD drive. This drive has TRIM support, so you should certainly run with Windows 7. If you've got a laptop that you feel should have plenty of power for you applications but yet it seems to struggle, it could just be that you're waiting on your HD too often. If you can deal with the limited space, the speed will likely make you smile.
