5Definitely YES
By StephenH
If you are thinking about purchasing this product, then yes, go ahead and do it. It would be a good choice.I purchased mine and it arrived quicker than I expected. Installing it was very easy. Two screws to remove the access panel on the bottom of my EeePC 900 and two screws to remove from the stock 16 Gb SDD, lift to remove, then insert the new one, screw it down, replace the cover, and it is done. It took less than 5 minutes.I went into the BIOS and disabled the built-in 4 Gb flash memory. All of my installation is on the 64 Gb SDD. I installed Fedora Linux with a 1 Gb boot partition (non-encrypted) and encrypted swap, /, and /home partitions. After reinstalling my applications and restoring my files, I now have a useful sized drive that is both fast and rugged.Although the Linux benchmark does not come anywhere near the claimed read speed of up to 150 MB/s (maximum read rate is 132.6, minimum 44.6, average 92.9 MB/s), it is still very much faster than the 16 Gb drive it replaced. I could not do a write benchmark as it would require the drive to be completely empty. I don't want to reload the system, so I will assume it is also faster than the previous drive. I used to have lags in working that were very annoying. Those no longer occur. The encryption may be adding some overhead that brings the read times down too, but it isn't excessive. For comparison, the 4 Gb onboard drive benchmarks at min read: 40.7 MB/s, Max read: 43.5 MB/s, ave. read: 42.2 MB/s and min write: 17.2 MB/s, Max write: 33.2 MB/s and ave. write of 23.0 MB/s. So, the minimum speed of the new drive still exceeds that of the "fast" onboard drive.I am quite pleased with this purchase. So far, it is working wonderfully. I now also have the room to install some applications for which I would never have had room previously.I would definitely recommend this product.

5Very fast...
By Robert Alexander
My 2GB eeePC 901 now runs Windows 7 with full Aero effects turned on very well since installing this much faster SSD. Previously, it was completely unusable with Aero turned on. What a difference, it's like having a whole different class of machine.

1Didn't last very long - Twice!!
By Ronald Thomson
This product installed quickly and easily, made my Asus 901 much quicker, and provided the space I needed. It lasted almost four months before becoming unusably slooooow with the drive light on almost constantly and no CPU use showing. SuperTalent support phone rep couldn't wait to hear all the symptoms before telling me to submit a RMA by e-mail. Then the e-mail support rep (Tony Wang) tried for several days to get me to say I was an incompetent idiot who couldn't even tell that this was a SuperTalent product and that I was incapable of installing an operating system - even after being told that the original Asus 16G SSD was working perfectly on "my" Win 7 installation in the same machine. They finally "permitted" me to send the RMA and I eventually got a replacement unit. This one installed and ran well for all of two days before hanging in a constant Windows Update loop which went to a permanent failure to reboot after the necessary shutdown/restart attempt. All attempts to repair, partition, format, and install an OS (both LinuxMint and Win 7) fail and the device just returns its unchanged, broken, partition status. I am, again, cramped back into the old Asus 16G and a removable 8G SD-HC. A very disappointing experience!
