I recommend this kit for old desktop computers with SATA hard drives that have separate power plug and SATA connector.

By gregniowa
one of the challenges that I regularly face is dealing with mounting 2.5 drives in a 3.5" bay that attaches using the threaded holes on the bottom of a 3.5" hard drive. Most adapters will not work with this configuration. however, this one will. It is well made, with decent tolerances. It also comes with a SATA to Molex power adapter and a data wire, both of which I do not need, but others may. it also has mounting screws, four for the 2.5 drive, four for attaching it to the bay. The four for the 3,5 drive are low profile which are needed to use the bottom mount. The only issue I encounter with this adapter is that some it is made of metal, there is an issue with some 3.5" hard drives that have PCB circuit boards on the bottom, as that presents a short potential. Most SSD drives I use do not have this problem, as they are fully encased. I work around this by using a few fiber washers (not included) on each of the four attachment holes to space the drive bottom {CB off the adapter plate. (I use tape to hold the screws into the bracket, then turn it over and place the washers on each of the threaded ends, then place the drive on the screw threads and screw them in from the other (bottom) side, through the tape.) Voila! No PCB contact, but still contact with electrical ground. There is a benefit of plastic adapters, but I would still prefer this one as it is durable and functions looks like a properly designed adapter, rather than just a piece of plastic. It also maintains contact with the system's ground plane, which is a good idea, technically. This is the best 2.5 to 3.5 adapter I have seen yet.

By Dale T. Morse
This is a good solid bracket, but it is longer than most like the one that comes with the Samsung SSD. I had to cut them down to get them to fit well into my cooler master elite 431 mid tower case because of the front fan, but they still work well in other cases.
