Product Description
OCZ REvo 3 PCI-Express Solid State Drives were designed with power users and workstation users in mind where storage I/O performance is essential for maximum productivity. Eliminating the SATA bottleneck, the PCIe-based Revo3 delivers ground-breaking 1GB/s of bandwidth and 130,000 4KB random write IOPS making this an ideal SSD for intensive multi threaded workloads, multimedia design, and workstation applications. Along with unprecedented performance, the Revo3 features OCZ's proprietary Virtualized Controller Architecture(VCA) 2.0which provides features including TRIM support and SMART data monitoring, something previously unheard of with PCIe solutions. In addition, the Revo 3's Super Scale storage accelerator enables scalable SSD performance and significantly reduces the host CPU burden inherent to competing

These are the future. If you want cutting edge performance and are already dishing out over $200 for a nice SSD, there is no reason to get a SATA interface one unless you physically can't use a PCIe SSD.You do have to load drivers onto a USB drive and "install" them in the Window's Install Setup during the time you select which drive to install windows onto (you have to select load driver, locate the drivers, choose the one corresponding to your OS, and then one loaded the drive will appear for you to select it). *UNTIL YOU LOAD THE DRIVERS, THE DRIVE WILL NOT APPEAR IN WINDOWS SETUP*Also, it's best to check that your motherboard is compatible first.

Installed the 240GB Revodrive series 3 in my Asus Maximus IV (P67). Booted up, card showed up immediately in the BIOS. Booted Windows 7 x64 from a USB stick. After installing the device driver (from the OCZ website), the installation went smoothly. Windows Experience Index jumped to 7.8 with zero tweaking. It seems the initial versions of these SSD cards had some teething problems, but OCZ sorted it out with this latest version.Recommended for enthusiasts & pros.

This drive makes me angry at my laptop... The best benchmark I can give is that I can start Outlook with an exchange connection, 5 other imap accounts, and about 8GB in PST files in roughly 5 seconds. Very impressive performance for office and graphics. Amazing for video rendering as well, you just need to ensure you have enough space on the drive for that. My only regret is that I couldn't afford the bigger drive. I've been running this no-stop for about 6 months with no problems at all.On setup, I was having trouble detecting the drive. If you have that issue too, try switching the RevoDrive to another slot. My mobo was very particular about which slot I was using...
