I got this drive for an older Pentium 4 system that only has SATA II. I thought I'd be able to tell some difference between this drive and ones I've installed on a newer systems but so far I really can't. I"m sure some testing would show this as a somewhat slower drive but in regular use it's every bit as fast as the SATA III drives have have. It really gives a major boost to my old P4 system and it's hard to tell the difference between using it and a much newer machine for most things. This is one of the best price/performance investments I've made since I maxed out the motherboard memory and then found a 1g AGP video card. The old P4 box will be around for a long, long, time now because everything I use it for is fluid and wouldn't benefit from any more speed if it were available. Since I already have an 80g SSD as my boot drive adding this to keep most of my applications and data on (including redirecting My Documents and such to this drive) all I had to do was hook up the drive, format it, and restore a backup to it. Worth every penny I paid and then some.

Bought old Macbook 2008, and since CDROM's are now obsolete for me, bought this SSD to replace my SATA hdd which I put in the CDrom slot as a backup. Really enjoying the quick boot of about 15 seconds. The price was very good for the era, which are now probably even cheaper.
